Introduction

We all have run into the problem of needing a flash drive for the sole purpose of holding a lone document a picture and there being one nowhere to be found. Sure, the cloud is great, but its always reassuring to have a hard copy. Some flash drives are expensive, especially high quality ones with lightning fast data transfer, high amounts of storage, and are rugged. These drives, although I am not saying that they are made badly, are great for the purpose for putting one all over the place without the fear of them getting broken. Product Build

These handy little drives are mainly made up of a rubbery material, which covers the motherboard which contains all of the data, and something that seems like aluminum, which makes up the silver swiveling cover that protects the the male USB from damage. As they brag on their product listing, these flash drives do seem to be durable, as I have dropped some of them multiple times without them showing many signs of abuse, if any at all, and they are certainly all still working perfectly. The design and coloring of the product is appealing to the eyes, and does not look ugly, as might be expected from a product that has this small of a price tag. Also, like is mentioned above, the metal protector can be swiveled and spun in any direction so that the USB can go into the port and then cover it again. And, if you so wish, that hinge can be removed for easy access. Pictures of all of the aforementioned things are shown below.

Use and Features

I was very surprised with how well these drives performed in everyday use, given the fact that at normal price these cost less that one dollar per unit. But, when tested with a normal USB 2.0 port, which is what they were made for, data was read from them at a solid 35 megabits, and wrote at varying rates, but never falling below about 15 megabits. The temperature of these also never rose above what I would consider warm and the temperature did not seem to affect the speed at which data was read or written. Also, if it matters, these each have exactly 960 megabytes of storage instead of the promised gigabyte. Just saying.

Conclusion

Overall, these flash drives give you a surprising amount of bang for your buck. They are compact, durable, and have competitive read and write speeds. I would recommend, and do.
